The Practiced Recollection of Who You Are NYC

Yoga often becomes the practiced recollection of where you are.  Starting with where are my body parts? Where is my breath? Where is my mind? When we start to recognize the transient nature of all of this- it’s far less tempting to identify yourself as any one of them. In this master asana class students will be led through a dynamic, thoughtful Hatha Tantra flow and meditation to experience the unbound infinite potential of who they really are.

“Tantric traditions tell us that all power comes from an essentially feminine inner source. The masculine in its purest, most essential form is the source of consciousness, of awareness. So when the masculine wants power, it must draw it from the feminine, just as when the feminine wants to be conscious, to reflect, she must draw that capacity from her inner masculine source.”

― Sally Kempton

Come reclaim your inner seat of power as we explore the Divine Feminine in this luxurious and transformational weekend retreat.

In this intimate women-only retreat, Sarah and Kristin will lead you through the practice of yoga, asana, pranayama, meditation, and chanting (Kirtan) to help you connect to the spark of the sacred feminine energy that lies within all of us.

Awakening the True Power of Yoga: Sun, Moon and Fire with Yogarupa Rod Stryker

My beloved teacher Yogarupa Rod Stryker makes a very rare appearance in NYC!!! You do not want to miss this!

The ancient tradition of Tantra maps the entire spectrum and sacred journey of Hatha Yoga. According to these teachings there are three stages of practice: Moon, Sun, and Fire. The ancient wisdom describes the stages as a progression, a path of evolution for practice and the practitioner. Understanding this progression is vital to meet your individual needs or the needs of your students. These teachings key to unlock the potential of practice, realize the ultimate promise of yoga: lasting happiness and success.

Join master teacher, Yogarupa Rod Stryker for an inspiring, informative and revolutionary weekend. Each class includes theory and practice. All levels welcome.

Saturday AM

Sun Practice: Awakening the Force of Transformation

We focus on the approach to practice that links us to and allows us to master prana, or life force. Sun practices increase vitality, subtle awareness, passion, and power. They unlock the subtle forces that lead to the final stages and highest goals of practice. “Solar” energy leads to shining, both internally and externally and is the foundation for the final and most powerful stage of practice.

Saturday PM

Moon Practice: Centering and Balancing

Activation of the lunar force creates healing, peace and wisdom. These practices stimulate the nurturing energy that allows us to remain calm in the midst of turbulence, steady in the midst of change. They also lead to mastery of mind and are key to awakening hidden intelligence and intuition.

Sunday AM
Fire Practice: Discovering and Living the Ultimate Aim of Practice

The ultimate aim of Yoga practice is to awaken our inner fire––the force of Spirit. Activation of the subtle force of fire leads to extraordinary perception and living. Practice focuses on generating the energy that dissolves inertia and the final obstacles to the highest state of Yoga.

Sunday PM

Yoga, Tantra and the Heart Lotus

Unlocking the wisdom and power of the heart leads to supreme glory, peace and capacity. According to the traditions of yoga and tantra the heart holds the keys to the “highest fortune.” The heart lotus, and the soul secrets it holds, are closed until we begin to nurture the heart through the practice of inner worship. As it opens, its unique capacities, including complete understanding of our own mind as well as the teachings is awakened. The eight unique shaktis (powers) of the heart grace our inner and outer life with extraordinary gifts. This master class will weave a journey into the heart lotus through different methodologies––including asana, bandha, mudra, pranayama and meditations––that unveil the qualities of the awakened heart: unsurpassed joy, complete stability, mastery of mantra and the highest light of discernment.

Feeling and Freeing Your Emotions with Kristin Leal & Sarah Platt-Finger

All proceeds will be donated to United For Puerto Rico

Ayurvedic teacher Dr.Vasant Lad has observed:

“Emotions are like mangos. We have to learn to ripen them and then juice them. When emotions are juiced, they are deeply nourishing. Even sweet.”

Emotions can be our greatest teacher. They have a way of whispering, or sometimes shouting, when we are aligned or disconnected with our Truest Self. Just like mangos, they need to be consumed and then through the assimilating process of digestion, use what is needed and release what is no longer nutritious.

In this 2 hour preview to Sarah and Kristin’s 4th annual Women’s retreat we will utilize the practice of chanting, asana and meditation to help bring awareness to our emotional intelligence. And- through the process of feeling- create healing and freedom.

Breaking Free with Yoga Nidra

Have you noticed certain patterns in your relationships or life that seem to be stuck on repeat? Of course! You're human! One of the beautiful benefits of a yoga practice is that we strengthen the ability to be self-reflective and notice these grooves that form in our minds....but then what? How do we break free of the patterns that no longer serve us?

In this workshop through a guided journalling exercise, gentle freeing movement and a practice of Yoga Nidra (guided deep relaxation) we will find the tools to liberate ourselves once and for all. You will also leave with an audio recording of the Yoga Nidra so you can continue the practice at home.
