Breaking Free With Yoga Nidra NYC

Have you noticed certain patterns in your relationships or life that seem to be stuck on repeat? Of course! You're human! One of the beautiful benefits of a yoga practice is that we strengthen the ability to be self-reflective and notice these grooves that form in our minds....but then what? How do we break free of the patterns that no longer serve us?

In this workshop through a guided journalling exercise, gentle freeing movement and a personalized practice of Yoga Nidra (guided deep relaxation) we will find the tools to liberate ourselves once and for all. You will also leave with an audio recording of the Yoga Nidra so you can continue the practice at home.

Early Bird (Before December 20) -$30

Igniting Your Inner Fire

The Ayurvedic concept of fire, or Agni, is critically important to our overall health and well being. Fire is transformational and while we are used to talking about stoking the fire of digestion to efficiently break down our food into nutritious bits and getting rid of what’s no longer needed this concept also relates to how we assimilate everything in our lives including emotions, memories, beliefs, and impressions. In this workshop we will start with a brief introduction to the concept of Agni and then share asana, pranayama and meditation techniques to stoke the transformational fire within.

Anatomy of Stress

We have all experienced stress. Whether it is a feeling of being overworked at your job or the pressure cooker of a tumultuous relationship with a family member or partner... We know stress. Or do we? Stress actually has a physiological response in your body. When this stress response is turned on through chemical stimulation, we can turn into superheroes with super human strength and reflexes to fight or flee from a dangerous situation. The problem is that we learn to nudge and annoy this system even when there is no immediate threat to be found. This literally wears down the tissues of the body. Through lecture, we’ll talk about the chemical response of stress and why it might not be a good idea to marinate in them. From there, we’ll learn how to turn off the stress response and turn on the relaxation response- where all of the body and minds housekeeping activities can be performed....ahhhhhh

Body Poetry- Intro to MetaAnatomy at PURE NYC

You are so much more than the sum of your parts!!

MetaAnatomy explores the dynamic beauty and poetry of who you are. Serious scientific knowledge and deep embodied philosophy combine to form a rich view, experience and ultimately a celebration of our differences and an honoring of our connectedness.

Our bodies house the philosophy of Yoga. Our cells pulsate with its teachings. If you're looking for a workshop or training that just teaches you to memorize anatomical lines, “facts”, and figures- this workshop is not for you.

If you are ready and willing to navigate, investigate and dive deep into your own meat suit

If you have a deep desire to help people reunite with the fullness of who they are, to support their physical as well as emotional health

If you are looking to explore both enthusiasm and embodiment

Join us for what I promise you will be a workshop like no other.

Together through lecture and practice we will get a taste of a full and fulfilling exploration of the totality of who we are.

MetaAnatomy Core

Let’s get to the core of the body’s support! In this lecture and master class we will dive deep into the underutilized and often misunderstood center of the body’s strength and stability. Reconnecting to our core has a wide range of physical as well as energetic benefits. It can offer us the ability to heal from back pain as well as become a more powerful navigator in our lives. Through subtle but powerful practices we will tap into this potential to reignite the fire in our belly!

The Practiced Recollection of Who You Are NYC

Yoga often becomes the practiced recollection of where you are.  Starting with where are my body parts? Where is my breath? Where is my mind? When we start to recognize the transient nature of all of this- it’s far less tempting to identify yourself as any one of them. In this master asana class students will be led through a dynamic, thoughtful Hatha Tantra flow and meditation to experience the unbound infinite potential of who they really are.

Feeling and Freeing Your Emotions with Kristin Leal & Sarah Platt-Finger

Feeling and Freeing Your Emotions with Kristin Leal & Sarah Platt-Finger

All proceeds will be donated to United For Puerto Rico

Ayurvedic teacher Dr.Vasant Lad has observed:

“Emotions are like mangos. We have to learn to ripen them and then juice them. When emotions are juiced, they are deeply nourishing. Even sweet.”

Emotions can be our greatest teacher. They have a way of whispering, or sometimes shouting, when we are aligned or disconnected with our Truest Self. Just like mangos, they need to be consumed and then through the assimilating process of digestion, use what is needed and release what is no longer nutritious.

In this 2 hour preview to Sarah and Kristin’s 4th annual Women’s retreat we will utilize the practice of chanting, asana and meditation to help bring awareness to our emotional intelligence. And- through the process of feeling- create healing and freedom.
